History of Organization

Tennessee Valley Family Services, Inc., (TVFS) was incorporated in 1977 as a nonprofit organization by a group of concerned citizens who recognized a shortfall in youth services.  TVFS has experience as a locally controlled, community-based agency designed to address the immediate needs of runaway youth, other homeless youth, and children in need of supervision (CHINS).

TVFS has grown from just a shelter program to include programs that target youth in various crisis situations.  The mission of the agency has remained unchanged and is, “to advocate for and empower youth and families”.

Product 1: Ogden House

Offered as a "weekend wake-up call" for youth who are defiant, disrespectful, oppositional and out-of-control.

Product 3: Safe Place

A national program where youth may find a Safe Place sign at a business site and gain access to services.
